Courtesy of - 30/05/17. THIS season’s Luxbet Hobart Cup winner Count Da Vinci and a few of his Scott Brunton-trained stablemates are about to embark on interstate campaigns.

Count Da Vinci and Lord Da Vinci, both owned by prominent West Australian businessman Wayne Notman, both trialed impressively in Hobart today with Lord Da Vinci winning his 900-metre hit-out by over four lengths while Count Da Vinci also emerged triumphant over the same trip.

Count Da Vinci won the Luxbet Hobart Cup (2400m) and then finished a game second to Big Duke in the Launceston Cup before being sent for a spell.

Lord Da Vinci proved his worth in sprinting ranks earlier this season with wins in two quality sprints and he was a luckless second to Admiral in a $50,000 Luxbet Stakes before finishing a game second to his stablemate Hellova Street in the $100,00 Listed Thomas Lyons over 1400m.

Cheryl’s Horse is the first of the team to try their luck in Melbourne. He will tackle a benchmark 84 handicap over 1600 metres at Moonee Valley on Saturday.

“I’ve got a couple of nice races penciled in for Lord Da Vinci and Count Da Vinci during June and July and I want to take Angel of the Abyss across for a benchmark 78 3YO fillies race over 1400m on Saturday week.”

Count Da Vinci and Lord Da Vinci will each have another trial in a fortnight before embarking on their interstate campaign.
