Loss of a champion

Courtesy of Tasracing.com.au - 17/09/15. Tasmanian racing has lost one of its modern day stars this morning with the sad passing of Banca Mo.

Mo, as he is commonly known, was the stable favourite for Scott Brunton and quickly became the pinjewel in the stables crown.

Mo went through his grades in devastating fashion since debuting in May 2011. From Maiden grade to Open company in the space of 12 months when trained in partnership with his father David, Mo went on to record a formidable record.

12 Wins and 12 placings in his 37 start career which included wins in the 2013 Pakenham Cup, 2015 Mornington Cup and arguably his most memorable win in the 2013 Warrnambool Cup when he crushed his opposition by 5 lengths.

A winner from 1100m to 2500m, Mo won more than $800,000 in prizemoney.

Banca Mo was on a path for the Caulfield Cup after gaining ballot free entry to the $2.5m event after winning the Mornington Cup in March.

Tassie has lost one of its champs!
