LIGHTLY raced three-year-old Niloufar scored an impressive win in a maiden/class one handicap over 1600 metres at Tattersall's Park in Hobart today which prompted his trainer to reveal some exciting future plans for the gelding.
Niloufar (West Quest-Cailler) roped home by over four lengths for what was one of the most impressive wins on the seven-race card.
With Brendon McCoull aboard he travelled just worse than midfield for the first half of the race but improved steadily to be within striking distance turning for home.
Trelew and Gotta Have Vibe were battling it out at the top of the home straight but when McCoull called on his charge for the supreme effort he cruised to the lead and went on to score impressively.
Niloufar is trained by David and Scott Brunton who have always had a decent opinion f the gelding but he has been slow to mature.
Dave Brunton said Niloufar would be in the spelling paddock by the weekend and plans will be laid to tackle some minor cups next season.
