TEAM Brunton made a great start to the meeting at Tattersall's Park in Hobart today winning the first three of 10 races on a rain affected track.

After Lander Dollar demolished his opposition in a class one, Great Delight and Moonrise were impressive in wining their respective maiden events.

Great Delight was having her first start in the state since coming to Tasmania from Victoria where she was domiciled at Tony Vasil's Caulfield stables.

With Chantal Willis aboard the well bred three-year-old filly enjoyed a cozy run in the race one-out with cover to the home turn where Willis let her slide to the leaders and she went on to score comfortably from Tyrekicker and the winner's stablemate Left Ear that had not started for 3-1/2 years.

The filly is owned by Julie Brunton and Maree Wells.

It was an impressive and while she is only a tiny filly she has a decent motor and is bound to win more races.

Moonrise led all the way to win her maiden by a comfortable margin over Make Us Richo and Foxy Minx.

It was only her third start and her second outing this time in.

Moonrise is by Zeditave from the Canny Lad mare Convince and given her liking for the heavy conditions she is likely to win more races during the winter months.
