PUNCTUATE has been one of Tasmania's most consistent sprinters for the past three years so it was good to see the six-year-old back in the winner's circle at Tattersall's Park in Hobart yesterday (Saturday).
The David and Scott Brunton-trained gelding led his rivals a merry chase and he held on to narrowly defeat smart mare Isibaeva in the $25,000 Winzenberg handicap over 1100 metres.
It was Punctuate's ninth win from 31 starts with the $16,250 prize money taking the gelding's career earnings beyond $200,000.
According to co-trainer Scott Brunton Punctuate has had his share of joint problems and other minor issues along the way but his constant has been his endeavor in his races.
He was well ridden by Anthony Darmanin who ensured a solid tempo but he rated the gelding superbly.
